Bayern returns to their home Alianz Arena after their triumph in the German Super Cup, when they managed to beat Dortmund 3-1, making it the 9th time Bayern have won the trophy. However, despite the addition of another trophy to the cabinet, the Munich club's form is not quite optimal. After the poor form in the preparation, Bayern carried this form into the opening Bundesliga match, when the Bavarian side only managed to draw 1-1 at Monchengladbach after goals from Plea and Lewandowski. The Munich club will therefore be looking to improve their form and build on last season's match when they managed to beat the Cologne Goats 5-1.
